§ 4.7. Water supply system.

  • 4.701 Requirements: Water mains properly connected with the water supply system or approved water districts approved by Cleco, Louisiana State Board of Health and Louisiana Rating and Fire Prevention Bureau shall be constructed in such a manner as to serve adequately for both domestic use and fire protection for all lots shown on the subdivision plat. Fire hydrants shall be installed by the subdivider in accordance with requirements of the fire underwriters.

    4.702 The subdivider shall provide suitable water mains and provide a water connection for each lot to a water supply. The water mains shall be of sufficient size to adequately supply the requirements of the subdivision for domestic use and fire protection in accordance with the standards of the state rating bureau and shall conform to the following requirements:

    1.

    Minimum pipe size allowed shall be six inches in diameter.

    2.

    Water mains shall be of sufficient size to provide at least one standard fire hydrant within 400 feet of each residence or other structure in the residential area and within 300 feet of each structure within commercial or industrial areas and shall comply with all rules and standards of the State Rating Bureau.

    3.

    Great emphasis shall be placed on looping of main. Cleco engineering is available for consultation in this matter.

    4.

    All pipes, materials, and fittings will require prior approval by Cleco.

    4.703 The system shall be constructed under the approval and supervision of the Evangeline Parish Health Unit and Cleco.
