§ 12-4. Use of landfill and trash collections.

  • The use of the Ville Platte Municipal Landfill is for the use of the citizens of Ville Platte who pay for the service and privilege of said use.

    No person or persons may bring, haul, carry or transport any refuse, trash, garbage, abandoned major appliances or any other organic or nonorganic substances into the city to be picked up by city garbage collectors for disposal at the municipal landfill.

    No person or persons may aid any person or persons to bring, haul, carry or transport any refuse, trash, garbage, abandoned major appliances or any other organic or nonorganic substances into the city or to the landfill to be picked up by city garbage collectors for disposal at the municipal landfill.

    No person or persons may bring, haul, carry or transport any refuse, trash, garbage, abandoned major appliances or any other organic or nonorganic substances to the city landfill who are not a resident of the City of Ville Platte. Nor shall any person or persons bring, haul carry or transport any refuse, trash, garbage, abandoned major appliances or any other organic or nonorganic substance to the landfill for any person who is not a resident of the City of Ville Platte.

    Any person or persons who violate this section shall be fined not less than $50.00 and up to $200.00 plus cost of removal of the offending trash, garbage or other material from city property.
