§ 3.10. Parks, playgrounds and school sites.

  • 3.1001 General: Developers are encouraged to set aside suitable sites for parks, playgrounds and schools as recommended in the comprehensive plan. These areas to be dedicated shall be indicated on the plat.

    3.1002 Guide: If acreage is reserved for parks, playgrounds or schools, the following regulations should serve as a guide to the developers:

    1.

    For parks and playgrounds, three and one-half (3.5) acres should be provided for each 100 lots in the proposed subdivision. The location should be agreed upon by the board of aldermen and the Ville Platte Planning Commission, and the developer. When possible, the site should be adjacent to a school.

    2.

    For school sites, a minimum of six acres should be provided where a subdivision has 200 lots, plus one additional acre for each 100 lots thereafter in the subdivision or in the proposed subdivision vicinity. The location should be agreed upon by the Evangeline Parish School Board, Ville Platte Planning Commission and the developers.
