§ 15-10. Reserved parking stalls for the handicapped.

  • (a)

    Designation. The street commissioner or his designee is authorized to designate that certain stalls (whether on public or private property) are reserved for handicapped persons and to erect and/or install signs and/or markings to indicate that such parking stalls are reserved for handicapped persons.

    (b)

    Authorized use. When an official sign and/or marking is erected and/or installed designating a parking stall is reserved for the use of handicapped persons only as authorized herein, no vehicle shall be parked in such designated stall (whether on public or private property) unless such vehicle displays an official license plate issued by the State of Louisiana, or by any other state, for the handicapped.

    (c)

    Penalty for violation. Violation for provisions of this section shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $25.00; and any violator will be required to pay, in addition to the fine, the towing fee and any storage costs which are incurred.
